Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, April 1, 2007

All Signs:
Mars and Pluto are kissing cousins. (Think Russell Crowe teamed up with Darth Vader.) This team can kick ass! Mars is in it for the glory and the competition. (Mars loves to win.) Pluto is dark and dangerous, but Pluto always wants transformation for the better - not only just for the better - but for the most people. Pluto is Marquis de Sade and Mother Teresa. This week, these two planets work harmoniously with each other. Mars has the intention, and Pluto deepens and extends its power. Each of us will apply this newfound strength and intensity to different parts of our lives. I'm going to apply mine to the parts that really need a strong, intense boost - my wallet and the top of my head.

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, March 25, 2007

All Signs:
This is a milder week: you can catch your breath. The Sun in Aries makes everyone a bit feisty, but in the big picture, Saturn continues to oppose Neptune. (This opposition is strongest in June/July.) The Saturn/Neptune dance promotes flu epidemics. It also means you're trying to attain an ideal, but falling short of it in reality. Whoa! Lots of ammunition for self-criticism! (Which is a bummer trip and totally anti-productive.) The trick is to turn this around - 180°. Think of what you're doing right! (785 million people can't read - you can.) Instead of worrying about what can go wrong; think about what you want to go right. (I know what I want to go right. I want to go right to the fridge and have a little nosh.)

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, March 18, 2007

All Signs:
This week the Sun enters Aries while Mars flirts with Saturn, Jupiter and Neptune. Since Mars rules the muscles and how we assert ourselves in society, as it aligns with different planets, we'll feel changing energy patterns: hesitancy, enthusiasm, vigour, or doubt. Meanwhile, back at the homepage, the Sun in Aries brings into focus different issues we're all facing. It's like a headlight sweeping through our lives. ("Oops, don't look there. I didn't get a chance to clean that up.") Relax: we're all embarrassed about messes and horror shows because no one trusts anyone who is over dirty. But who trusts anyone who is over clean? (You gotta be clean enough to be healthy but dirty enough to be happy.)

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, March 11, 2007

All Signs:
For centuries, astrologers made predictions on Jupiter/Saturn cycles (especially conjunctions.) This week Jupiter and Saturn eye each other at a perfect 120 degrees. The last time this happened in Fire Signs (as they are now) was Nov. 1987. Similar opportunities are once again at hand! However, in 1987, Jupiter was in Aries, and Saturn was in Sagittarius; whereas now Jupiter is in Sagittarius and Saturn is in Leo. (Details!) Essentially, these two powerful planets are pulling together and supporting each other's activities. This means we can move forward to develop what we want to do. It's like wanting to buy something - and voila! It's on sale and we have the money! Omigawd ? it all works. Preparation meets opportunity. Cogito ergo spud. I think, therefore, I yam.

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, March 4, 2007

All Signs:
Glory hallelujah! This is going to be a much better week. (Anything is better than the last few weeks. Oy!) Mercury retrograde will be over by the 8th, although it is still roughly stationary (at almost the same degree) for 4-5 days. But it's an improvement! Meanwhile, back in the North 40, planetary aspects are also improving. Saturn and Neptune are still duking it out ("I'm navel lint!"); but Venus is really going to pull through for all of us. When things get better, it's always important to appreciate your good fortune. (You never know the value of water until the well runs dry.) It's a good week to socialize. Throw on your glad rags and hit the town. (But avoid parties where you'll be the most interesting person there.)

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, February 25, 2007

All Signs:
About every 36 years, Saturn opposes Neptune (most recently 1936-37 & 1971-72) and now. (Hey - these guys have so little in common, they don't even like to be in the same address book!) Saturn rules definitions, limitations, and obstacles. The real world. Neptune is Utopia, the ideal, everything that's fuzzy and wonderful but illusory. Neptune is the Muse: Saturn is Jack Web: "Just the facts, Ma'am." (Do take care of your health. This transit promotes flu outbreaks.) Furthermore, when these planets get together, we tend to beat ourselves up about our shortcomings. We feel like failures. ("Take two, they're small.") This reminds me of an old lover (he was younger then) who whenever I moaned, "I feel like a failure!" would always reply, "Will I do?"

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, February 18, 2007

All Signs:
Sunday, February 18 is both the Chinese New Year and the Tibetan New Year, which means we're now in the Year of the Fire Pig. (Previous Pig years being 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983 and 1995.) Because the Pig is the last animal in the Chinese zodiac, it's considered to be well fed i.e. prosperous. Therefore, a Pig year represents the bounty we've built up over the previous years. Not only should this be a year of prosperity -- medicine, money and academic matters are specifically favoured. (Sounds good to me.) And of course, Oscar Wilde was right, "It's better to have a permanent income than to be fascinating."

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, February 11, 2007

Moon Alert (all signs):
We're in the first Mercury retrograde of 2007. (It's over by the 8th of March.) Take extra precautions with cars and trucks. Stay on top of repairs. Pay your phone bill. Charge your cell phone. Try to anticipate how to reduce the chaos in your life due to delays and breakdowns with transportation and confused communications. Use this time to finish projects that have already begun. This is a poor time to begin new things or buy cars and trucks. People from your past will reappear; and we'll all have vuja de moments. (Unlike moments of dejà vu, where you have a feeling you have done this before - vuja de are moments where you buy something knowing you have no money and no way of paying for it. ("Will my Visa hold?")

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, February 4, 2007

All signs:
It's been said maturity is accepting your limitations and functioning to the best of your ability within those limitations. This week the Sun opposes Saturn making us feel imposed upon by limitations and restrictions. Oy! We could feel lonely and cut off from each other. (Ah, the yawning abyss!) Duty before pleasure -- the works. But all is not lost. Another influence will bring each of us surprise goodies, unexpected good luck and splendid opportunities! It's a mixed bag. But ya know? I like a mixed bag. Monotony is a drag. It's fun to page yourself over the intercom and not disguise your voice. Or park by the side of the road holding a hair dryer out the window - ha! (Works every time.) As Dorothy Parker noted, "The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity."

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, January 28, 2007

All Signs:
This week the Full Moon takes place in Leo on Feb.1 at 9:45 p.m. PST. One thing you'll notice about the Full Moon: whatever worries you have will intensify as the Full Moon approaches. Then after the Full Moon peaks, these same worries diminish or even disappear! (Go figure.) Each month, the Full Moon is in a different sign, which means it hits a different part of your chart each time. (Every month - new worries!) That's why each Full Moon has a different flavour. Some are more intense; some are more emotional. Hey -- since 95% of the things I worry about never happen - I figure it pays to worry. (Not!)

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, January 21, 2007

All Signs:

This week has positive and stressful influences. Naturally, we all face the inevitable challenges of relating to each other. Therefore, I'm repeating a story I mentioned in October in which an old Native American grandfather told his grandson, "There are two wolves fighting inside all of us- the wolf of fear and hate, and the wolf of love and peace." The grandson listened, then looked up at his grandfather and asked, "Which one will win?" The grandfather replied, "The one we feed." This is a good reminder when we feel critical about others. (Hey -- a critic is just a wet blanket that soaks everything it touches.) For a happy heart - don't run upstairs or run down people.)

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, January 14, 2007

All Signs:
We'll all notice a subtle shift in our lives because this week Mercury and the Sun move into Aquarius, and Mars are moves into Capricorn. Musical chairs! The Sun denotes where we tend to give our focus and attention. Mercury relates to everyday routine, ground transportation and communications. Mars is an energy planet. It rules the muscles. As it moves through the signs, it energizes different parts of our charts and our own particular planets. What does this mean? Read on for a few hints. The only thing one can be certain of is: if you took all the people who fell asleep at work, and laid them end to end, they'd be a lot more comfortable.

Virgo (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)

Even though many of you are giving up people, places and possessions - this year is enriching in a way that is totally supportive. All matters connected with family, home, your private life, and real estate are beautifully blessed in 2007! If you can buy a house, a condo, some land, or a teepee - do it. Whatever you initiate in terms of real estate, or however you improve your existing real estate - both of these will generate future profits for you. You can't go wrong. Similarly, your home life will feel enriched in other ways. Family relationships will be more joyful. Your home life will feel happier, 'bigger' and more expansive. This will give you a warm feeling in your tummy as you go through this time of transition.

Virgo for 2007 (Aug. 23 - Sept. 22)

In many ways, 2007 is a fabulous year. That's because both Saturn and Jupiter are working together. Sometimes the challenges of Saturn are a bummer, but this year, Jupiter is along to pick up the slack and help you out. Here's the skinny: without question, this is a tough time for you. You're in the midst of giving up people, places and possessions. Things are uncertain. You don't have a warm feeling in your tummy. The good news is as the year progresses, Jupiter will give you the support where it counts most: home, family and your private life. Jupiter will enrich your domestic scene. 2007 is the best time in over a decade for you to invest in real estate, or buy anything for your home and family. When things are good at home, it's easier to face the fierce world outside.

Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, December 3, 2006

All Signs:
The world is experiencing excess, and things going overboard or being over-the-top because five planets are in Sagittarius -- a sign that works hard and parties hard. Nothing is halfway. Sagittarius always rises to the challenge and plays the long shot. ("You only live once - but if you do it right, once is enough!") This quality of abundance and magnification will manifest even in the weather. It can be good or bad. That's why you feel one area of your life being enlarged or amped. The bright side is too much of a good thing is a good thing. (Of course, one man's Mede is another man's Persian.)
