history gets torn down for progress

Calgary's first hospital and a few warehouses were converted into the Penny Lane Mall in the 1970s.
It was never that successful as a retail centre so its valuable real estate is going to be utilized for 2 office towers which will take up most of the block.
The Opus 8 building was put up on spec and the office portion of the building is full leased.
Cowboys Bar will be torn down after the Calgary Stampede in July.
