Children will not be allowed to work in Alberta bars

I know we have a labour shortage, but this was a bad idea. When we had the peeler shortage, they brought girls in from eastern Europe to strip, but who ever came up with this idea should not be in a position of influence with the government.

The Alberta government has changed course on a plan to allow children as young as 12 to work in bars.
The province had told industry officials yesterday they were going to allow kids to work in the non-booze areas of bars, like in kitchens.
But the government reversed that plan after news leaked out today.
The Alberta Federation of Labour and the opposition NDP criticized the plan as a crass cash grab at the expense of children.
A spokesman for Ed Stelmach says the premier was also not in favour of the idea.
The change was to help the industry address critical labour shortages.
The current rules in Alberta state that no child under 18 is allowed to enter a bar.
Workers from 12 to 14 are allowed to do the following tasks:
1. Delivery of flyers or newspapers
2. Be a clerk in a retail store
3. Be a clerk or messenger in an office
4. Be a delivery person of small wares in a store
5. Work at low-risk jobs in food and restaurant job including hosting and cleaning including busing, dishwashing, and customer service.
