A well known American preacher got a lot of publicity today for his latest in a series of bizarre "prophecies" or predictions. It is worth noting that none of his previous predictions have come true. I don't want to give him any more publicity by naming him, or give his fear mongering prediction for the U.S. in 2007 any power.
My rule of thumb is: if the prediction is based on fear or is meant to cause fear, then it didn't come from God.
